We offer a service, usually through solicitors, to advise on the needs of people who have disabilities including specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, attention deficit and language difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders and Asperger's Syndrome as well as learning difficulties and disabilities.
We offer the police, solicitors and Appropriate Adults a consultation service by telephone and in person to help them quickly identify people who are entitled to have special arrangements made before they are interviewed by the police. Following interview, where people have been charged with offences, we prepare full reports about their levels of functioning and the likely effects of the interview circumstances on the reliability of their statements, and how any disabilities might have affected them at the time of the alleged offence, or at interview and afterwards, including when instructing their solicitor, their fitness to plead, the need for special arrangements at trial and how they are likely to perform under cross-examination.
