Family
We have been involved in family court work for over 25 years. While it is always hoped that the difficulties families face can be resolved in other ways, sometimes decisions have to be made in the interests of the children involved rather than to allow continued uncertainty.
Our instructions usually come from the court through solicitors acting for the parties involved. We are usually appointed as 'single court experts' and work by agreement. We rarely take instructions from only one party in family matters.
Acting as expert advisers to the court, we have extensive experience of making assessments, reporting to court and giving evidence in family matters. We work closely with the family and all of their supporting professionals. Our primary focus is the children and ensuring that their needs are known and understood. We always act independently, taking instruction from the court while listening to all participants and reporting on their role in the family.
